DI water is part of the system—not a substitute for operating control.

A DI-water fogger can support clean airflow visualization only when water quality, reservoir condition, output control and delivery accessories are managed together.

Terminology

What “DI water fogger” usually means

The term generally refers to ultrasonic foggers that atomize deionized water. Some facilities may approve sterile water or WFI instead. The controlling requirement is the manufacturer’s instruction and the facility’s contamination-control assessment.

  • Use only approved water quality
  • Use clean transfer containers
  • Avoid stagnant water in the reservoir
  • Drain and dry the system after use
  • Inspect hoses and wands
  • Document cleaning and maintenance
Risk-based selection

Match water choice to the environment

WFI does not make an otherwise uncontrolled process acceptable. Conversely, DI water may be entirely appropriate where the manufacturer and facility protocol permit it. Make the decision through documented risk assessment rather than marketing shorthand.
